So let's see what the team have made and what colours we were inspired by this week...

Nikky...I don't normally go bright with my pinks so I decided to try and go much more vibrant this week so this stunning front door was my inspiration (there is actually a house I pass every day from work which has the whole exterior painted and decorated like this, it's awesome but you know the neighbours just hate it LOL!)....
This image was fab to colour in but I made the mistake of printing it HUGE (like almost A4 FGS!) for some reason and I had to colour her up there and then so couldnt wait to reprint it at a normal size. Colouring big is great for practicing strokes and where to add light and shade, but when you have a large expanse of skirt like this it made the blending SO hard LOL! Not recommended if you're in a hurry and I actually messed it up a little so my blending isn't great on this but hey ho!
Now we have a couple more Skintone colours which have recently been released they slot right in to help make skin blending soooo much easier!

Graph'It markers used:
Skin: 4105, 4125, 4150, 3105, 3120, 4145, 4135 cheeks

WK 25 - PINK AND PRETTY...Graph'It colouring challenge sponsored by The East Wind

Welcome to another Graph'It Colouring Challenge!
Where do the weeks go, they seem to flash by, it must be because we are all heads down buried in colouring!

Our challenge for you this week is
Pink and Pretty
You can enter anything that fits the theme and you have until Friday 3rd July to enter
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO USE OUR PRODUCTS TO ENTER - YOU CAN USE ANY COLOURING MEDIUM YOU WISH!

PRIZE 1:  Random winner chosen by Random.org: Set of Graph'It markers
PRIZE 2: A random winner from The Design Team's Top 3 will win 3 wonderful digi stamps from our fab Sponsor's store this week - how generous!
For this challenge we are very kindly sponsored by
THE EAST WIND
The artist behind The East Wind digital images is known as Unky LaStrange. Unky makes her home in British Columbia, Canada with her wonderful daughter, Aurora, the love of her life and source of much inspiration. She has been creating art since she was a child always allowing it to reflect her interests, humour, and love of all that is quirky. Her unique images run the gamut from the darkly humourous and sometimes creepy through the world of fashion-forward Lucy Loo to the sweet Aurora and Baby Aurora where life and people are good and beautiful. There are images to suit every taste, occasion, or whim at The East Wind so make sure you check out the store by clicking the image above!

Nikky...As soon as I saw this amazing image which is called Angel I knew just how I wanted to colour her. Sometimes less is more and I love using just a hint of colour sometimes rather than the full on heavy coverage we love with Graph'It. This image sums up the exact colours I had in my mind when I started...

I used:
Skin: 4105, 4125, 4150, 3105, 3120, 4145, 4135 cheeks
Pinks: 4110, 4125, 4135, 4150, 4160
Greys: Graph'It waterbased brushliner

Scatty Jan Whoooo hoooo Pink and Pretty , just love , love, love using Pinks. I have used the real cutie image from East Wind - Baby Aurora you can find her here, just soooo sweet, I loved colouring her up. I added some hearts to her pillow. Using the lovely colour palette for my Inspiration...

Graph'It Markers Used
Skin 4115, 4125, 4135, 4145
Hair 3125, 1280, 1270, 1230, 1210
Pinks 5120, 5115, 5110
Greys 9103, 9102, 9101
White Graph'It for added hearts

Anjie - I got to use the beautiful  Aurora Daisy image.
The Graph'It Markers I have used are:
Skin: 4105, 4125, 4150, 3120
Hair: 1210, 1230, 3105, 3110, 3140
Dress: 5115, 5125 and the mixing palette to get a shade in between the 2.

Kevin I thought I would make a door hanger using this image called Pink Babydoll...
Graph'It Markers Used
Skin 4115.4150.4155.4180
Hair 3110.3125.1270
Baby doll 5110.5115.5120.5125
Stockings & shoes 9508.9905.9909

YvonneI have used the image 'Date Evening Lovely Mon Amour'.  I have used the following colouring palette for inspiration...
 Here is a closer look:
I used the following markers:
Skin: 4101, 4105, 4125, 3105, 3110
Hair: 9102, 9104, 9107, black
Dress & Shoes: 5125, 5150, 5170
Phone: 9104, 9107
I also used a black fine liner

In addition, I have mastered (may be a slight exaggeration) the art of using the Graph'It Marker Mix It Palette, which has let me mix 4125 and 3105/3110 to give that extra shadow without making it too dark and too contrast. I also used the Mix It Palette for the dress adding 5170 to the 5125 for that depth of shadow.

What fabulous makes and inspiration again this week!
Don't forget to check out all the wonderful images from our sponsor, East Wind...

We'll be back next week with the winnders from last time and more inspiration - go get your colour on!

PRIZE 2:
A random winner from The Design Team's Top 3 will win a $12 voucher to the Sponsor's store this week - how generous!

The winners from our last challenge are at the end of this post, but in the meantime let's see what the team have made for us this week:

Yvonne -  This week I am bringing you 'Princess' from the new Serenity Collection from Polkadoodles.  The papers are from the same collection. I used the following colour palatte.

I used the following markers:  Skin: 4125, 4150, 3120, 4145
Hair: 3110, 3140, 3160
Dress & Wings: 7125, 7130, 7170
Crown: 1110, 1140, 1180
Flowers: 4145, 4135, 4175

Nikky...We're all trying to use colour palettes for inspiration to stretch our colour choices more but I have to admit I'm finding it rather hard LOL! I'm kind of a get on with it gal when it comes to my colouring and I just go with the flow but this was the palette I had in mind for this week...
Gorgeous tones! I'm such a muted fan it's really hard for me to venture into the 7150 area which is round where you will find cyan and the brighter blues shown on the palette here. Cyan is a cornerstone of any blue combination, it's one of the core colours which make up the entire colour wheel along with magenta, yellow and black, so it's important. When i'm trying to choose a blue I always look at cyan as my midtone and then tend to choose more of a muted version so the 71's are the colours I tend to use more in my colouring. I veered off this colour palette a little as I was viewing it on my phone and didnt realise I had a colour filter applied as I was viewing it haha! I'm such an idiot sometimes LOL! I basically used the palette as a guide but went with a more muted version of the colours as I wanted a really soft look to my sad little girl (this is Oddella Twigs from Polkadoodles).
I actually added way more colour to this than I originally intended, I wanted to show you that you don't always have to colour really heavily, sometimes a few flicks of well placed colour is all you need so really I just paid attention to the face, hair and the water so this only took about an hour to colour...
I used:
Skin: 4105, 4150, 3105, 3120
Hair: 7101, 7105, 7110, 7119
Clothing: Dress 4110, 3210 Tights: 6180, 3210, 4110 with Grey brushliner Boots 3105, 3210, 4110
Water: Grey Brushliners plus 7150 applied over the top, 8120 for the grass
Graph'It White Shake, Graph'It Fineliner .005 and Graph'It Brushliner (all 4)

I am also loving using the brand new Graph'It waterbased Pigmented Fineliner pens - these are super fine and are available in a range of different size blacks which are perfect for getting into those tiny areas and adding some really dark black shadows just where you need to fill in - you know where you get a tiny bit of white that you just cant get even the finest nib into. The .003 Fineliner is just sublime and there is only one other pen brand that has this tiny size, it's so fine it's barely there but they finish off your images perfectly.

Graph'It have also just launched a new set of Black and Grey Fine Brushliners - and OMG you NEEEED these!!! The fine brush is just superb! These are currently available in black and 3 shades of grey and again are waterbased pigmented. I have been experimenting a little with these and I'm loving using them again just to finish off and add some extra definition to my work at the end. I used them here on the water under her feet - they blend a little but allow you to still get some texture and the brush is just amazing to work with, again if you find it hard to get the fine alcohol marker nib into some areas these are perfect for assisting you. They are really designed  for sketching and drawing but I am seriously in love with them.

Scatty Jan wooohooooo just love a bit of Oddella, this image is Oddella bow and you can find her in the Polkadoodles store here. Coloured with my Graph'Its a perfect match! I went for a more grey/blue colour theme using the colour palette for my Inspiration- Daring myself to use some darker skin tones which I adored using.

Graph'Its colours used

Hair 9407, 9405, 9403, 9502,
