wk 24....Blondie - Graph'It Colouring Crazy challenge

Welcome back to another Colouring challenge with Graph'It!

INTERNATIONAL DESIGN TEAM CALL:
Graph'It UK Design Team are looking for several new, uber talented colourists to join our super happy, friendly team (international applicants may apply). If you adore colouring with alcohol markers we would love to hear from you and see your work! We also welcome anyone who loves using alcohol markers in mixed media projects or other art based projects.

Graph'It markers are super high quality alcohol markers manufactured in France since 2012 - our aim is to bring a premium quality marker at an affordable price and the brand is becoming very well known for the fantastic vibrancy of colour and beautiful blending that can be achieved by users of any skill level.

As part of the Graph'It design team you will be provided with a generous welcome package of products to enable you to fulfil your Design Team role. Your work will be promoted via our blog and social media internationally and through the UK TV Craft Channel, Create and Craft TV. We are looking for good colourists of different skill levels and criteria...we need people with the skills to inspire others to have a go as well as people with uber amazing colouring skills already. A fun personality is a bonus!

Your role:
1. By being part of the Design Team you will be an ambassador for the Graph'It brand at all times;
2. Create a minimum of 3 projects for the Graph'It blog per month and participate in the blog challenges (fortnightly) including commenting via rota system;
3. Proactively promote the Graph'It brand in all craft projects you create;
4. Proactively participate on our social media platforms, being willing to help other users with hints and tips and education.
5. You will be required to create physical samples for use in both trade and craft shows as and when required.
6. Your terms and conditions as a Design Team member will be discussed in further detail after you have been selected and will be subject to contract.

What you need to do:
1. Email sales@polkadoodles.co.uk with a SHORT paragraph of why you wish to be on the team.
2. Send the URL of your blog (you must have an active blog and facebook page) together with 3 photos of your favourite colouring projects from your page - try to show us your versatility and if you prefer a specific type of crafting tell us about it! We want to know what makes you tick!
3. Your photos must be of high quality and good lighting to show off the alcohol markers in the best possible light - there is no point spending hours colouring something if the reader cannot see the image clearly. Your posts will need to be coherent and promote the products well, make sure you include product links within your posts wherever possible!
4. Please do not submit work which is not created by you!
5. Include other information we need - especially if you are part of any other teams - we need to know which teams.

The deadline for applications is 14th July 2014.
We are looking for more than one person. All applications will be answered once a decision has been made.  We look forward to seeing your work!

So let's get to the challenge this week!...
BLONDIE
Yes this week it's all about Blonde! Now this could mean being either peroxide, yellow or just a bit dim - the interpretation is entirely up to you LOL!!!
You have until 27th June at noon to enter - you don't have to use Graph'it markers to enter. The Random Winner of this challenge will be announced on 4th July and you have until 27th June to enter so get your colouring boots on! as always, the winner will receive some Graph'it goodies and the team will choose their Top 3 favourites!

Let's see what the team have for you today...

Nikky...It's been so long since I've been able to join in with a challenge but I love colouring Blonde hair so I had to try my best to join in this week! This image is from the new Polkadoodles Rose Budd collection and I wanted to use really soft tones to fit the theme so blonde works really well here...
I don't really use yellows for blonde - I use light shades of browns and then maybe throw in one yellow to brighten it a little depending on the mood I'm in.
Graph'Its I used:
skin: 4110, 4120, 4155, 3110, 4145, 4135 (this photo makes the skin look very orange but in fact it's not really)....hair: 12010, 1230, 3110, 3125, 3250, 3290...clothes: 6110, 6130, 9100, 6150, 6160
In addition to the blonde theme this image was also a great test for Graph'It - their colour range is so vibrant I was wondering how I would fare with a more subtle range of softer tones with this card (more pastel and soft tones will be coming soon as the range expands)...but I didn't need to worry. I wanted a nice soft cornflower blue for her outfit and I used 6110 and 6120 here but underneath I used Cool Grey 1 which helped to just mute the tones a little. This is a really really good tip for you if you need more muted tones - always add a base of the lightest grey tone under your colour and that will mute it - so if you are going for blues or greens use 9100 etc, look at the family and choose accordingly. It's also a really good opportunity to use the Mix'It Palette to mix your own colours up too.

Kevin   I don't really colour up a lot of blonde hair, I tend to go for more browns and blacks, this image was perfect for this as he reminds me of Chris Hoy the Cyclist, He is from the Fabulous Work & Play Cd rom from Polkadoodles....
Skin.4110,4155.4170.4180.
Hair.1210..1250.2105
Clothing.1140.1150.12.50.7130.7155.
Bike.9500.9501.9504.6290.

Anjie - The image, papers, flowers and gems (don't they look real) are all from the fabulous new Rose Budd Papercrafting CD which debuted on C&C on Tuesday.This is going to be a mega seller so make sure you get your order in asap for despatch from  Polkadoodles on the 17th June.
The Graph'It Markers I have used are:
Skin: 4115, 4155, 4170, 4175, 3160
Hair: 1210, 1230, 3110, 3140, 3180
Dress: 5110, 5115, 5120

Our lovely Guest Designer Yvonne has joined us this week:
Hi Yvonne here! This weeks challenge is 'Blondie' and I interpreted this quite simply as blonde hair! I chose to use an Elizabeth Bell image, simply because this image is absolutely gorgeous!
 I softened the edges with Ultramarine Blue Tint pan pastel. As you can see, I opted to cut the frame out from the same papers, using a Tattered Lace die. The ribbon and flowers are from my stash. My ribbon IS straight, it just photographs squint - which is very frustrating....
The Graph'It Markers I used are:
Skin: 4115, 4155, 4170, 4145
Hair: 1210, 1230, 1270
Jeans: 9100, 9102, 9103, 9104
Top, Scarf & Apple: 5210, 5220, 5245 (9102 & 9104 )
Tree: 1270, 3110, 3140, 3150
Book: 7105, 7109, 7110, 7115

So that's my Guest spot over and I have a had a blast, thank you for having me!
