Welcome back to another fabulous Colouring Challenge!

So today, our challenge for the team is

Warm Colours/Oranges and Lemons

and for you guys at home to make it easy you can choose either of these options so show us your wares! 

Remember it doesnt mean you have to colour with oranges and lemons but we just want to see that somewhere on your make! You can use ANY colouring medium you like!

Zoe - Well this was a challenge as these are not colours I tend to use, and I found I only have one orange in my collection. But worry not - I used my warm browns! So the girl is from Candy Doodles Collection from Polkadoodles. I layered the image on a mix of orange and yellow card, adding a couple of brads and some washi tape.

Cara....I loved this challenge, it's not very often I use Orange or Yellow in my designs so this was a lovely change and i'm sure I will be using it more often, the oranges in the GI range are so rich I love them. I used this amazing image from the Dollie Daydream Goes East CDrom, the papers, sentiment and even the shaped card template came from there too!

Wk 19 - Let's Go Pink Graph'It Colour Crazy Challenge

This week I decided to make a bottle tag using the fab template from the Doobadoo range (you can use the same template to make a door hanger too) I also used the laser art butterflies which I coloured with my markers. I used my pink grays for this challenge along with one of the darker pinks in the range to give me a darker more shaded look.  I also used the pink grays and blender to colour my background.

Zoe - So this week I coloured up a Saturated Canary image - I wanted to make a page in my Smash book for personal reasons and it suited what I wanted to achieve for now. I also used my Graph It's to help colour coordinate my mats and layers. My pink card wasn't quite the right shade, so I just went over it. I added a few die cuts to embellish including the hearts from Doobadoo which I also coloured black.

Wk 16 - Using Greys...Graph'It Marker Colouring Challenge

Happy Easter everyone and welcome to another Colouring challenge!
Don't forget, you don't have to use Graph'Its to enter our challenge, we accept entries which use ANY alcohol marker, no matter which brand!

Zoe - I love the different greys you can get in the Graph It range, Green grey is fabulous for shading, backgrounds and, for me, it shouted school uniform!! So I coloured up this Some Odd Girl digi. I used the green greys to colour her skirt, bag, hair band and eyes. I also used them to create the soft dotted background. Combined with warm bold colours the green greys can become the new black!!

Cara
I love colouring in monochromatic and I also love colouring hair in lots of wild and different colours, the many varieties of Grey's in the Graph'it range are perfect for this.  I coloured the hair, eyes and lips of this lovely lady using the Green grays and then built up my card in matching colours to give a lovely monochromatic finish. I also used the Shake glitter market to add shimmer and the White pen to add the dots.

Wk 15 - Shadow Effects Graph'It Colouring Challenge

Shadows can be one of the most useful effects no matter what you're colouring so I challenged the team to come up with the goods and boy, did they!

Zoe - I loved this challenge, adding depth to images with darker shadows is something I enjoy doing. I've created these bookmarks using a flower image from the gorgeous Dollie Goes East collection. I also added chipboard letters and a heart, all coloured with my Graph It's. I used a brown and a  green grey to add the extra shadows - my image shows the flowers coloured before I added the shadow then after and, of course, the finished project!

Cara

I love adding shadows to my images and I like to extend the shadowing around the image (I also tend to get carried away as I have done here and end up making a complete background out of my shadows). I like to use the same colours I have used withing my image to create my shadows as I think it can add an extra dimension to my finished project.

Wk 12 Springtime pastels... Graph'It Colour challenge

Hello and welcome back to another Graph'It Colour challenge!

Spring is a-coming here in the UK, the flowers are all springing forth with their glorious colours so this week we have challenged the team to use a 

Springtime Pastels

theme
You have until 4th April at noon GMT to enter this challenge and our Random Winner will receive a pack of Graph'Its to try! The Design Team will also choose their favourite Top 3 and we will announce the winner on 11th April.

When you look at the Graph'it Colour chart it can appear that because the colours are so very vibrant and rich, that there aren't any pastel tones, but this is very far from the truth. Pastels are very often represented by wishy washy pale colour tones which don't make much impact but by keeping the depth of the pigments so rich Graph'it have some lovely pastels to offer us. Try 5110, 5115, 6130 just for a start.

This week we don't have a winner to announce as we are now a fortnightly challenge but will announce our Week 10 winner next Friday. You can still enter that challenge HERE if you're very quick and get your entry in today!

Anjie...The image and sentiment is Dollie Daydream - Sleepyhead Digistamp, which is also available in the Polkadoodles Etsy store.  I have made rolled roses from the same papers and added some die cuts.

Zoe - I really enjoyed this challenge as I usually colour bright, bold colours so I had to rein myself in to colour pastels! I used this pretty girl character from Candy Doodles collection.   I created a simple white background using the fabulous fence & lanterns from the Doobadoo range as well as some pastel coloured flowers, gems & Candi from my stash. I also used my blender with all combinations to lighten and blend where necessary.

Cara...I decided to use my mix it pallet for this challenge to help me achieve a soft watercolour effect to my image. I stamped my image on Watercolour card which worked really well with the blender which I used to "paint with". It also helped having the Brush nib on the blender pen.  I was a little scared to use this technique before but now I've taken the plunge I really love it and will be using it more often!

I used inks to start the background but then used my Graph It's through a stencil to build depth. I added extra accents from my stash.

Anjie - The image, papers and sentiments are all from the Pretty Tuff CD Rom.  I've added faux stitching around the paper and sentiments and added some die cut banners from Tattered Lace.

Zoe - For this week's challenge I had a play with creating texture on clothes and in particular denims. Once I finished colouring my image, I sprayed some Mix It Fluid onto a textured towel. I then dabbed the cloth onto the coloured jean's, not rushing to allow the fluid to lift some of the colour and to leave the impression of the cloth.

Nikky...I haven't had much time this week as I've been away at the UK Craft trade show at NEC but I really wanted to join in this challenge...

I used my Dollie Daydream digistamp and I'm a bit obsessed with colouring water at the moment as you might have guessed. Actually, if I'm honest this was the first and just about the only image that I had to hand last minute LOL! I absolutely adore Graph'It Cool Greys for colouring Denims and that's what I've used here with a very limited colour palette of only Greys (other than skintones).

Week 7...Whimsy/Graph'It challenge....Floral/Love

Hi everyone - Happy Valentine's Day and welcome back to another fabulous Colour Challenge! 

This week we are all UBER excited at Graph'It because we are teaming up with the amazingly talented Design Team over at 

We are a family owned art stamp company dedicated to providing crafters around the world with whimsical and fun stamp designs. Our exclusive products are great for card making, scrap booking, and many other crafting projects.

Woooo!! So exciting!! 

Here on the Graph'It team we thought it would be kinda cool to challenge the Whimsy Digital Design Team and see what we all came up with and the results are stunning!

So our joint challenge this week is all about Florals/Love

Nikky....How exciting to be joining up with the Whimsy team! 

The image I have used is Whimsy's/Chrissy's Float My Boat which is just so adorable I couldn't resist and I hope I did it justice.

I was really bad and forgot to write down all the GI colours I used because I got so carried away with colouring this, but the kitty is coloured using 4120, 1150, 1250, 3110, 3125, 3150, 3180 and 3290 for the dark bits (I think!). For the water I used the Cool Greys which are very blue together with 7115 and 7119 and neutral grey. For the sky/clouds all I used was 9101 together with my blender pen to create the fluffy clouds. On the boat I just used Neutral Grey 9500, 9502 and 9505. If you do try to recreate this apologies if it's not the same as I'm trying to remember the colours and my memory isn't the best!

For the deeper shadows on his skin I used a light violet tone (6110) in addition to my usual skin colors.

Wk 5 Graph'It colouring challenge....Anything Goes/Different Coloured hair

Woohoo It's Challenge Day!! Any excuse for a spell of colouring!
We also have some exciting news for you as we have two new team members joining us this week! Yay! Welcome to Anjie and Zoe - we love their makes and know they'll both add an extra dimension to our lovely team, they've settled in already and it feels like they've been with us for years already!

Firstly, we have to remind you that there is another Graph'It show on 7th Feb with Nikky on Create and Craft - you can tune in on sky 671, Freeview 36 or online at www.createandcraft.tv when it's live on air and after the show. There are NEW things on the show which we think a lot of you will need so make sure you check it out!

We also have to mention that Nikky has started to do some Google Hangouts where she shows a variety of crafty stuff including Graph'Its of course! Watch out on Facebook/Twitter for the times and links but this will be regular and it's like having a LIVE class on air! Wahey! Anjie- I'm very excited to have been asked to be a part of this very talented team, thank you all so much for having me. Here is my first project.

Well of course I chose my favourite colour, (my own hair was this colour last year) and I'm quite please with the result. The image is from the lush Dollie Daydream Girl Talk CD Collection, as are the papers and the build a fleur. The border and heart stamps, lace, button and ribbon are from my stash.

Zoe - Well this is my first official DT project for the challenge blog! I'm so excited to be here and can't wait to share my projects will you all. So the DT have been challenged to do coloured hair.
